IFEMA welcomes the 40th edition of the ESPEN Congress, the leading convention for professionals and experts in clinical nutrition and metabolism. More than 4,000 physicians, dietitians, pharmacists, nutritionists, scientists and nurse involved in the field of nutrition will get together this September in Feria de Madrid to meet and discuss cutting edge science, strengthening old and sparkling new collaborations.
ESPEN, the most important European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism wishes to beat the record in the number of participants this year. With the theme “Nutrition without borders” they want to explore new topics in clinical nutrition, in different clinical settings, besides the multidisciplinary and worldwide environment of the Congress with representation of more than 100 different countries.This year is the fourth time that ESPEN holds a congress in Spain. Barcelona had the honor in 1987 and 2012, and Madrid in 2000. The organizers consider Madrid to be an ideal setting for this congress since it is a captivating city that enjoys bright, sunny weather, tasty food and contains some of the most visited art museums in the world and a cultural heritage where history and modernity blend effortlessly together.ESPEN offers an excellent scientific and educational program that includes Cuthbertson and Wretlind Lectures, ESPEN Fellowship symposium, 7 Oral Communication sessions and 18 scientific symposia.
