BARCELONA – ATHENS
Presentation at the Barcelona airport at the Vueling counter to carry out baggage billing procedures and pick up boarding passes 2 hours before the departure of the flight to Athens.
BARCELONA – ATHENS – EXIT: 9:50 p.m. – ARRIVAL: 1:40 p.m.
Upon arrival, we will find the coach that will take us to the beginning of our visit to the capital, to visit one of the jewels of the crown of the Greek city: the National Archaeological Museum (in Greek, Εθνικό Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο) . It accommodates many of the most important archaeological objects found in Greece from its prehistory to late antiquity. It is considered one of the great museums in the world, and contains the best collection of objects from ancient Greece that can be found all over the world. It is organized into five more or less chronological topics: the prehistoric collection (from the 6th century BC to 1050 BC), the collection of sculptures (7th century BC in the 5th century BC), the collection of ceramics ( 11th century BC in Roman Greece), the bronze collection, and the Egyptian and Middle Eastern collections.
After the visit we will go to dinner and to the hotel (4 *) where we will be staying to spend the night.
ATENAS – WHEELS
Breakfast. Departure to visit the city of Athens. We will find the spirit of the Olympics of antiquity in the stadium of Kalimármaro. On the way to the Parliament of Greece we will see the Arch of Hadrian, and upon arriving at the Constitution Square (Syntagma) we will also see the monument of the Unknown Soldier and the traditional Change of Guard. We will continue the visit to reach the Plaza de la Concordia (Omonia).
Visit to the famous Acropolisfrom Athens. The Acropolis was literally the “high city” and was present in most Greek cities, with a dual function: defensive and as the site of the main places of worship. The Acropolis of Athens is located on a hill about 165 meters above the city level. It is also known as Cecropia in honor of the legendary serpent man, Cécrops, king of Athens. We can see its monumental entrance door, the Propileus, and the Nike Apta temple, where formerly was the bronze statue of the Athenian goddess. On the right, we find the Parthenon or Atena Pàrtenos (the Virgin) impassive. And to the left, almost at the end of the Acropolis, we will see the six caryatids that support the Erection. Some remains of the Dionysian Theater still remain. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987 in Paris.
After the visit, transfer to the airport to board the flight to Rhodes. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.
WHEELS.
Breakfast at the hotel. We will begin our tour of the island of Rhodes, historically known mainly by the Colossus of Rhodes (one of the seven wonders of the world), going to the new part of the city, from where we will see the places of greatest interest . Later we will take a panoramic visit to Mount Smith, where they have a fantastic view of both the old town and the new part of the city of Rhodes. The medieval city of Rhodes is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Carrer dels Cavallers, one of the best preserved medieval streets, will find hostels of the different nationalities that made up the Order of the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem. It was a military and religious order founded to help pilgrims traveling to Terra Santal 11th century. Later he became an armed body that acquired great fame for the warlike events in which he participated. Its full name is Sovereign Military and Hospital Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes and of Malta.
Before arriving at the Palace of the Grand Master, we will travel through the Burgo area and the Solimà el Magnífico mosque, the Turkish baths and the Hospital dels Cavallers in the Mouseíou Square, which now houses the Archaeological Museum. The culmination of this walk through the medieval city of Rhodes is the Castle. The Palace of the Grand Master is a magnificent unfinished building, the main monument of the Ancient City.

(RIDES) LINDOS
Breakfast at the hotel. We will take you to the charming town of Lindos, located 56 km from the Port of Rhodes. Here we will visit the town with its labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets and typical white houses. At the top of the promontory that dominates the city is the Acropolis with the Colonnade, the temple dedicated to the Athenian goddess, and the ruins of the Via Sacra. To reach the Acropolis you have to climb many steps. There will be free time for shopping.
When you return to Rhodes, we will stop at the town of Archangelos, which has a fortress of knights and various medieval churches, also decorated with frescoes.

RODES – PATMOS
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, we will embark on the ferry to Patmos, UNESCO heritage. Upon arrival we will visit the Monastery of San Juan, the Theologian, founded in 1088 by Osio Cristódulo, will open the doors to the courtyard of the monastery, the refectory where the monks and the old bakery ate. Of unique beauty, the tour of the Byzantine church of San Juan, decorated by an impressive iconostasis of wood, will show us its important frescoes of different periods, mosaics and other icons.
The next stop is the small museum that houses ecclesiastical treasures of incalculable value, such as manuscripts, medieval fabrics, costumes, etc. Behind the chapel of Santa Anna is the entrance to the Cave of the Apocalypse. We will see the cross carved by Saint John, according to tradition, in the triple crack of the Grotto wall, where John heard God dictating the Apocalypse as well as the place where he slept.

PATMOS – SAMOS
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning we will leave with the ferry to the island of Samos. The island of Samos had its peak during the reign of the Policrates tyrant. We will visit the monastery of Megali Panagia, which was built in the 16th century by the monks and Neilos Dionysus, in Byzantine style. In particular we can admire the frescoes that decorate it. We will also stop at the monastery of Timios Stavros, founded in 1582 by the same monks, which houses a magnificent carved wooden grid.

(SAMOS) PYTHAGORION – HEREO
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning we will take the path to Pythagorion ( UNESCO ), the site of the ancient Samos. Next, we will visit the ruins of Hereo ( UNESCO ), a large sanctuary occupied since the Mycenaean period and dedicated to Hera, the goddess that according to the legend was born in these places. We will go to see some beautiful archaic pieces of bronze and the colossal kouros found, broken in a thousand pieces, along the processional route of the Hereo.

Breakfast at the hotel. With the bus, we will move to the airport of Samos where we will say “again” to a memorable trip we will like to repeat!
